My name is Aurélien Caye, and I’ve always been drawn to the edges of the map. Growing up in France and now living in New York, I found early on that I felt most alive in places where silence, nature, and vast open space force you to slow down and confront yourself. What began as a curiosity for the outdoors gradually became a deep passion for long, human-powered journeys.
Crossing Greenland on skis and later skiing alone across a frozen Canadian lake taught me the beauty and fragility of the polar world. These experiences shaped my belief that adventure is not about being the strongest, but about being willing to go, step by step, into the unknown. My next chapter is the most demanding yet: a solo 1,150 km expedition to the South Pole, unsupported and unassisted.
